weekend scenes

Jammie came to visit this weekend. She is also known as Jan or Micah's momma but all the grand kiddos refer to her as Jammie. She flew in late Friday afternoon and left this morning after breakfast. Elsie keeps asking when Jammie is coming back from the airplane... so sweet. This weekend literally flew by as it was filled with so much goodness.
Friday night was a spontaneous Girls Night Out at the ballpark with Alissa, Jacqui and my new friend Ashlee! It was so fun hanging at the Angel's stadium enjoying hotdogs, kettle corn, good laughs and some amazing fireworks. I would say it was a good game but we literally just laughed and talked all night I don't think we watched one full inning. These gals are definitely a good time!
Saturday morning was AWESOME! After our yummy breakfast at Mimi's Cafe we were driving home and saw tons of Garage Sale signs. We wanted to stop at all of them but new Vernon needed a nap so Jammie offered to stay home with him while Micah, Elsie and myself went on a little family bike ride all around town hitting up garage sales. It was divine. I can't remember the last time I got to go on a bike ride! And scoring lots of treasures was fantastic! It was lunch time by the time we got home and so we picked some fresh tomatoes and peppers from the garden to whip up this killer guacamole to accompany our fish tacos!
The rest of Saturday was just lounging and then shopping. More eating out and consuming lots of See's Chocolate! I loved that Jammie was there to help play with the babes while at the mall. I actually got to try on clothes annnnd, wait for it... purchase the stuff I tried on! Because I wasn't rushed or feeling pressured to just grab some stuff and then try it on at home knowing full well I'd probably have to make a trip back to return it, instead I was able to enjoy some time picking out a few new pieces for the ol' wardrobe.
Sunday after a wonderful church service where once again with the help of Jammie we were all able to go in one car instead of separate cars, had the kids in class on time and was able to sit through a whole service including worship. (I'm starting to see a pattern as I write how much I should have begged for Jammie to stay just a few extra weeks days longer!) And while Vernon was napping and everyone else went swimming I went to help my Natty finish up the rest of her baby registry! I can't even tell you how stoked I am for this baby to get here, and after goo-goo-gaa'ing all over the newborn baby boy stuff he can't come soon enough. I joke with her that she is kind of like my surrogate mother and that this is my third baby she is carrying because I'm claiming him as my own. He doesn't know what he has in store from this Auntie!
This weekend was full and my heart is happy!

That sounds like a fabulous weekend! Your little family is just too cute :) I'm super jealous of your garage sale adventures...I was dying to go this weekend but got talked into golf in 105 degree heat instead. Not exactly my ideal Saturday!
