daddy's day

I knew Micah was going to be an amazing daddy just by his character alone. Plus he was a pretty awesome uncle to our nieces and nephews before we had kids of our own.
But what I didn't know was just how stellar of a daddy he would actually be.
He loves our babies so fiercely and it blesses me to watch him do what he does greatly.

Not only does he make silly voices, have dance parties, sing songs, tell them stories and just basically exceeds me as the "fun" parent but he is loving, patient, tender-hearted, stern when he needs to be and will kiss a boo-boo when they're hurt.
He prays with them and lives an example of a Godly man
He is a provider.
He is devoted.
He has integrity
He is loyal.
He is honest.
He is brave.
He is friendly.
He is creative.
He is giving.
He is delightful.
He is discerning.
He is handsome.
He loves with his whole heart.
they are safe when he sleeps next to them
and secure when he holds them

not only is he their daddy but he is their mama's husband and they see that he loves me well.
He is setting such a wonderful example of a husband I hope Elsie will desire to have and a husband that Vernon would aspire to be like.

he cried when both came into the world and couldn't put either of them down after they arrived.
he proudly carried each of them in the same carseat as we welcomed each into their new home
he cherishes the small things and rejoices in the big moments
he is their daddy
and we are so so thankful he is
I was looking through Micah's old blog (yes my hubby had one years back even before I had one) and I stumbled across this quote he wrote here after becoming a father to Elsie.

“The human heart contains thousands of little doors that are unlocked by key events that one experiences throughout the course of life. With the birth of my daughter, a door has been opened in my heart which has allowed me to love more deeply than I ever knew was possible.”

yeah, my heart melted a little bit too.
Happy Father's Day Micah
you truly are the best!
"Just as a father has compassion on his children, So the LORD has compassion on those who fear Him." Psalm 103:13

I love this! In a world where most women are guilty of "man-bashing" from time to time (I even do it myself!), it's so refreshing to read such a sweet and loving post about a man - husband and daddy.
