eighty

so we just returned home from a whirlwind trip to Albuquerque, NM. We were celebrating Micah's grandparents (papaw & mamaw's) 80th birthdays.
yup. they both turned eighty this year and we turned it into a kind of huge birthday bash/family reunion type of event
The flight there was a breeze and the babes were so excited to see the family or as Elsie called them "friends"
We stayed at a resort which had an indoor waterpark so we swam most of the first day.
when we weren't swimming we were hanging out with everyone in the conference room (which was reserved for our family the entire weekend) and when we weren't doing that, we were in the hotel room resting. Since Elsie doesn't take naps anymore we built her a fort in the room where she could quietly watch videos while Vernon slept and she absolutely loved every minute of it.

Saturday they had a professional photographer come take family photos and each family represented wore a specific color. Us Ensors had been designated green so while we were getting our individual shots I had our cousin snap a few shots because I don't know if I'll ever get my hands on the actual profesh ones.
It was so good to catch up with aunts, uncles and cousins we rarely get to see but most of all watching our babes play so well with their cousins was the highlight of the trip. It  had me wishing we lived closer, especially since the moment we left Albuquerque, Elsie has asked where her cousins went.

Though it was a quick trip, and there was too many of us too quite catch up with everyone it was still great to have been able to be part of the celebration.
baby Simon is the newest addition to the family and is being snuggled by his grandpa in this pic which is Micah's Uncle Scotty
only four months old and so darn sweet
Now we're home, and though the beautiful southern california weather welcomed us we couldn't help but miss our family
I'm sure after some In & Out and some yummy pazookie from BJ's pizza our spirits will be lifted
