My Beloved

Yesterday's sermon was one of those messages where you think you know everything about a particular scripture passage and have heard it taught a hundred different ways and so there couldn't possibly anything new you could gleam from it except that it is awesome and you just love hearing it.
Our pastor is doing a series on Hope for the broken. Yesterday's message was a continuation on broken marriages. Ours isn't broken or even heading into a direction of needing mending but I always want to have an open heart about these areas whether I'm going through them or not. We don't know where life's paths will lead and I don't want to say we will never be there. I think we won't, but know anything can happen.

I always love to have preventative lessons on how to work through situations and what God's word says about it. He was covering Ephesians five, and for some reason when he started talking about verses 25 - 27 "Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her..." something really stuck out to me.

I realized Micah loves me as God instructs him to. I sat there taking in the message all the while my heart was bursting at the seams with this new awareness. Through this past year with all my struggles and hardships, Micah has been by my side. He has loved me when I didn't deserved to be loved. He cried with me when I cried. He hurt when I hurt and laughed when I'd laugh. This past year was one of the hardest years of my life and yet I have never felt a more stronger connection between him and I. He loved me. For better and for worse. No dozen roses or silly valentine could ever express what he already has and continues to do on a daily basis. He loves me. He truly does. I don't know where I'd be without him.

He is my best friend. The love of my life. My Valentine every February. I love this man probably more than he'll ever know.
