Cereal Cravings

It is 5:00 am. An hour ago is when I woke with hunger pains beyond recognition.Though I'm craving a bowl of Alphabet cereal or even Golden Grahams I am eating a very crisp, very juicy organic Fuji apple that seems to be helping the pickle I'm in at the moment...mmm pickle, with spicy brown mustard on lets say a pastrami sandwich! I was craving that before bed last night but refused to go and get one for the fear of swelling up from all the sodium that a pastrami sandwich must contain. I'm not a huge meat eater so the fact that I'm craving such a fatty, salty cut of beef is surprising. I think it is more the combination of the spicy mustard, pickle and meat that sound so enticing, so I must stop writing about it before I leave right now in a pursuit to find one this early. I realize that many of you might be sipping your morning coffee and gagging at the thought of such a heavy unhealthy meat this hour of the day but what can I say, I'm pregnant. I do apologize and will continue with what I had originally set out to write about. Cereal.
Everyday for the past few weeks cereal sounds so good. Not just any cereal but all the fun unhealthy ones you ate as a kid. I, however have not once purchased said cravings, nor sent Micah to buy any. Besides, if I sent Micah he would come back with five boxes and help me eat every one since he is such a cereal lover. Now don't get me wrong, I enjoy cereal very much and love when we have cereal parties with friends (yes we really do have cereal parties) but it is not something I am ever craving or even have in the house, except for healthy fiber cereal. That changes today.
Last night, after the whole needing a pastrami sandwich now issue passed, I looked at Micah while he was about to get into bed and said, "Lucky Charms, I need Lucky Charms." He immediately jumped into bed, said he would rather get me a pastrami sandwich because he didn't have to get out of the car for that (drive-thru) and then reminded me that I hate Lucky Charms. He's right you know, always have, since I was a kid. I'm not a fan of marshmallows, so that is why. Needless to say, I just went to bed... hungry.
Now as I am embarking this new and glorious day I have made it my mission to go and stock up on FUN cereal to avoid another one of last nights debacle as well as these early morning cravings.
By the way, my all time favorite cereal is Kellogg's Frosted Flakes. I can't just eat them as is unfortunately, I have this whole ritual, one that has taken place since childhood. I pour the flakes into my bowl then crush it to bits with my spoon, then pour on the milk. Not sure why I started doing this or why I even continue to do so as an adult but I swear they taste so much better. They're Gr-r-reat!
I would love to know, what is your favorite cereal?

Been up since 2am, couldn't fall back asleep after peein' - annnnd just ate a salami sandwich. I had craved one yesterday and was dying. Then dinner at Cindy's last night I mentioned it, and it followed by her saying "I have salami, I'll pack you up some to take home." It was yummy.

I typically am not a sweets girl, but reading your post really makes me want to go shopping for some cereal. (I don't like Lucky Charms either!)

I've always loved count chocula, but now, my favorite 'bad' cereal is chocolate cheerios! I am like you though, I only buy and eat healthy high fiber cereals, esp Kashi Go lean. TJ eats the WORST cereals though, and adds a ton of sugar on them.... I've seen him put sugar on captain crunch. yeah. Ps... I love reading your blog=)
