This fix was fun (as always) but I think I need to add in a box on the my style profile that reads "long legs" please adjust accordingly...
Also I know I could've just added tights like I normally do to my dresses that are a tad too short but due to the heat and the thought of having to wear said tights which would only produce more sweating just to take some pictures, let's just say I couldn't bring myself to pull the trigger and keep the dresses no matter how much I loved them.

Okay let's get on with my fix shall we!
I'm not a huge fan of chevron, but this dress screamed summer! It was light and airy, perfect for the season + it fit well... all besides the length of course.

I thought because of the length and lightness it felt more like a cover-up so no matter what I added in hopes to dress it up and make it not feel so short,  I kept thinking "beach cover-up"

Which don't get me wrong, totally cute for a beach cover-up but let's be honest this mama is no where near that cute when trying to get herself + two littles out the door and to the beach. I would be a disappointment to the dress.
see I tried, nothing worked
I loved this dress. It was lined well, had all the right structure to hold me in at the right places + it had POCKETS. I tried it on annnnd of course it was too short.
Darn these long legs
but still too short + I can imagine a heat stroke waiting to happen if I tried to rock a sweater in this heat
{ain't nobody got time for dat}
This mint top was cute, but only when tucked in. It was rather boxy and didn't flatter me at all. Loved the color and of course the Peter Pan Collar so I was bummed it didn't work out.
 Winner-Winner-Chicken-Dinner!
{although it's too darn hot for a chicken dinner and these black pants I might add, I loved this shirt. totally keeping it}
{obviously my "hey, girl hey" face}
this little stretchy cotton tank peplum goodness took second place and made it's way into my closet!
I know you're wondering about the stunning little accessory hanging around my neck with the peplum top aren't you? Well if you follow me on instagram you would've seen the above photo of the same necklace. Stitch Fix numero nine

This Stitch Fix post was brought to you during nap time and using my Timer Cam App no less. Not to mention I have three day unwashed hair and morning old make-up in these shots, so let's be kind and non-judgey... mmm-kay.

I was actually torn with which items to keep this time around. I liked them all for different reasons and couldn't decide on which piece I loved more. Take a looksie yourself.
When I first saw this in the box I was like "bleh", not for any other reason except I'm pretty particular when it comes to stripes on my clothes. Then after I tried it on I couldn't believe how soft and flowy it was. Not at all like an unflattering jersey material but like a soft comfy cotton material I could not only chase after the babes in, but take a nap on the couch in as well. Plus the way the stripes are deigned made it more flattering than I had envisioned and ended up loving this dress. I paired it with a vintage belt and vintage heels to help it feel more like my style.
 (without tights)
 (with tights)
(fun back zipper, I like the little details in things)

I knew I would love this Easton Floral Print dress the minute I took it out of the box. Great print, fit and though it didn't have pockets (my fave) it did have cute princess sleeves and a fun zipper that made this a top runner for me in my selection.

But then I tried on this and was like "doh"! I heart this one big time. Lively print. Fun Fit. Day to night look. (Like I really have a situation that I need to rock a day to night look, but nonetheless this would totally work)
I'm always so iffy when it comes to blouses, because I'm really just quite lame about wearing denim much and so when I can find a blouse that can pair well with jeans (just in case I haven't shaved) or a skirt it kind of becomes a must have.
This cute tunic dress was actually my top choice before trying anything on. I loved all the cute tangerine colored chicks against the navy blue dress but then after trying it on wasn't too crazy about the fit until I added a belt. I still think it's adorable but not really me.

So I'm after writing this post and looking over these photos I think I'm going to get one (or two) of the top three dresses... any thoughts?

Also, if you're looking to schedule your first fix, you can do so HERE

Stitch Fix Fun

As if I already don't happy dance enough when I receive my Stitch Fix box in the mail, it just so happened that my most recent box was delivered while my Molly Poo was visiting! You better believe I was jumping + squealing knowing I'd get to show what was inside the happy box. When I came running through the house to show her the box, I think her exact words were "Fashion show + Photo Shoot NOW!! Which were my thoughts exactly. I mean it was like we were out shopping together except our kids were eating globs of ice cream and being merry instead of running around the dressing room and stressing me out.

Oh and since Molly was here to snap some pics + give me an opinion I made her try on one of the pieces as well. You know just to get her in on the action and make it that much more fun! The only thing is, I think we were able to get ONE decent shot of each piece because we were giggling and messing around so much that there are more blooper shots then good shots. I definitely included those for your viewing pleasure. Enjoy!

 BLOOPERS!
So how cute is Molly rockin' that maxi!? Can we say model much.
Wasn't this such a fun fix. I'm actually not much of a maxi skirt girl nor am I much of a sweater girl so I'm going to make some adjustments to my style profile to tweak the preferences for my next fix. However, I am a dress girl and maybe even more than a dress girl am I a lover of anything with scalloped trim!! That little number was a definite keeper and went straight onto a hanger and into my closet... where it belongs.

If you want to get in on the Stitch Fix action, get on their waiting list HERE! Seriously go sign up!

Need another fix?

Okay so this is my fifth Stitch Fix. It is starting to become like a good friend who just stops by once a month to sit and have tea. I look forward to the visits and get to have some time to play dress up!
If you still don't know what Stitch Fix is by now you should check out my first four fixes. ONE, TWO, THREE and FOUR!

Basically Stitch Fix is a fun and easy way to keep your wardrobe up-to-date. They get your style and size preferences, then send you a package of stylish goodies to try on at home, in your closet, with your favorite jeans and heels or skirts and flats!

It's like a free Personal Shopper + Stylist in the comfort of your own home!

In other words IT'S AWESOME! And if you haven't already you need to get on their wait list for your first fix HERE
For those of you who are just hearing about stitch fix for the first time here is a bit more awesomeness you should know.

  • Each article of clothing comes with a style card which shows you different ways to wear each garment.
  • You can receive a 25% discount off your entire Fix if you purchase the whole box.
  • Whatever you don't want you just toss in the prepaid postage bag they supply and leave for your postman (so convenient)
  • You can mix and match each piece with your pre-existing wardrobe and shoes because this is done in the comfort of your own home.
Nuff said.
Now let's get this party started. Well it's not really a party but for this mama, it kind of is. (so sad, I know)

I thought I'd have some more fun this time around and give my outfits a title or a name. Since I was secretly already doing that on my own with my other fixes I figured why not share with you all! (you know, because that's normal right?)

My first item was this colorful tank cowl dress by Charlie Jade. I loved the fit and the colors but something about the style seemed a bit too business like for my taste. It reminded me of something I used to wear when I worked in an office or had lunch meetings out on the town. Needless to say, it wasn't a keeper.

I loved pulling this next little number out of the mix.  First of all it's an Everly skirt which is starting to become one of my new fave brands and secondly it had POCKETS! If you've checked out my other fixes or are a regular follower you know I have a thing for pockets in my skirts and dresses! The colors were fun and knew I could find plenty of things to pair with it. This went directly into the "keeping" pile.

Okay so this Dylan and Rose Crochet Trim shirt was so cute. I loved that it was black and that I could wear it with almost anything. The detail on this tank really did it for me though. Having texture like this on a solid color top always makes my heart happy. So into the "keeping" pile it went.
Now here is where I started questioning what I had filled out on my style preference card from the last fix. After each fix you can adjust your style preferences and talk to your stylist about changes you would like to make or pieces you would like to see in your next fix of you choose to schedule another.
Though this sheer jersey top was pretty, it just wasn't me. I kept lifting my arms and asking Micah if I was wearing it right. Unless my arms were at my side like pictured above I just felt a little silly in it and that's coming from a girl who has an eclectic style. All this shirt did was make me not feel cool enough to rock it... so into the "send back" pile it went, because nobody wants to feel uncool!
Okay so I will be perfectly honest about this next piece. When I first opened my box and pulled out my list of items that the box contained I saw this listed. It read two things that got me excited. Dolce Vita and Gingham. So when I got to the bottom of my box and saw this I was like, say whaaaa???
I love Dolce Vita and I also love Gingham. Put them together and I pictured a vintage inspired dress or a cute number I could dress up for the holidays.
This was neither of those options. The gingham was more of a tiny checked print and the material and style were one of a bathing suit cover-up. Well, at least that is what Micah said when he saw me in it.
I could totally picture a fashionista rocking this with skinnies and high heeled booties but this was definitely a "send back" situation for me. So bummed.
And in a last minute desperate attempt I even tried pairing it with tights and boots and was still left feeling blah.
It was totally okay it didn't work out because though I had some credit to shop with and had some extra cash money from my shop this month I knew with Christmas just weeks away the last thing I needed to be doing was buying myself some new digs.

So with that being said out of the two items I loved which do you think I should buy?
The Everly Striped Skirt with pockets or the Crochet Black Tank?

And while you're decided what I should take you should hop on over to Stitch Fix now and schedule you're very own fix! I would love to see what they send you!

Stitch Fix: quatro

Disclaimer: I felt almost silly posting this after such an eventful night of our nation deciding the direction we will be going these next four years, but then I thought, since I already had it typed and ready to post, that maybe something on the lighter side would be just what we all need.

Disclaimer #2: with the time change and Micah getting home after the sun sets these photos were snapped with the iPhone, in bad lighting and so, well I'm sorry. #dealwithit
Now onto the actual post.

I have to say, I'm have become more and more excited with each Stitch Fix box that gets delivered to my doorstep each month. It started as a fun new thing to test out and has now become something I look forward to.
If you haven't seen my other fixes I'd suggest you check them out first HERE, HERE and HERE.

Stitch Fix is a fun and easy way to keep your wardrobe up-to-date. They get your style and size preferences, then send you a package of stylish goodies to try on at home, in your closet, with your favorite jeans and heels or skirts and flats!

If you checked out my last fix HERE you would've seen I purchased the whole box. Another one of their perks is if you buy the whole sha-bang you get %25 off your entire order!

The only problem with my last fix being so awesome was I set the bar for my next box a little too high... when I received this month's fix I was surprisingly a tad disappointed. Not at first because I actually LOVED all the clothes when I opened the box. It was the fit that threw me off. It was just one of those things, a skirt was too loose or a top just wasn't flattering on.Even though they were the correct size and all.
Just see for yourself.
This warp shirt was so cute but for some reason I felt super frumpy in it, I had to tuck it in the back more to make it look more flattering in the front, but then it would drape too much and would have to tug on it in the back. Not to mention I I obviously have an issue with the sleeves, I mean look at the first two shots... Why is one sleeve up and the other pulled down? It's like I can't decide whether I'm hot or cold and that was exactly how I felt about the shirt in general.
Now this lace Cardi is cute, but there was something about the lace I didn't care for. Plus the silk in between the buttons wouldn't lay right and so it made the buttons pucker on me (I know It's just because I wasn't "filling it out" in some areas) and so it just did nothing for me.
I loved this next skirt! The colors were so fun and had a million tops to mix and match with it, that is until I tried it on. It was totally the correct size and everything but it just hung on me. In this picture I actually have it gathered in the back and I'm pulling on it to look fitted. I tried pulling it lower to sit on my hips but then it just looked unflattering so I was bummed it was another one going in the return pile.

Unfortunately the next top I tried on did not fit at all. It hung way too loosely and I couldn't figure out how to style it without looking utterly ridiculous so I didn't even bother taking a picture.
waa-waa-waaaaa
I did however try on the last piece in the box and fell instantly in love.
It's a dress! Are you surprised?! Me either.
The bold red, with the touch of black was just so fun and perfect for any upcoming Christmas parties or events!
It actually worked out that not everything fit this time around because I was just looking for a new statement piece and I received just that!
I like that these boxes may have one item that is a perfect statement piece to add to my collection, but then another box can have everything I need to change up the wardrobe a bit for a new season!
The thing is, the whole process is so fun and I love being able to mix and match shoes and blouses, accessories and bottoms to try and make each piece work. Because let's be real, I don't have the luxury of time to do that in a store with two littles and I definitely don't have all of my own closet with me when out and about, so I still get to really enjoy playing dress up in the comfort of my home!
I also love that with Stitch Fix I have my own personal stylist so I can just holla at my girl and let her know what I loved or didn't love and give her a request for particular items in my next fix or tell her what I'd like to stay away from... like unflattering tops for example. I can request accessories to be thrown in and maybe some pants since the whether should be cooling down, but who am I kidding all this girl wants is more dresses every time!
If you haven't scheduled your first fix yet I highly recommend getting on the waiting list HERE (that's right they are that awesome they have a waiting list) It would be the perfect time to have a stylist find you that cute little number you have had trouble finding for your upcoming holiday events!
Seriously get on it peeps, it's awesome!
