At Home for the Holidays Link-Up Party

When I found out I'd be part of this fab Christmas link up party with Caroline & Jen, sharing each others Holiday decor I couldn't have been more excited.
I was happy dancing all over the place until I pulled out all our Christmas boxes and realized I had a conundrum.
You see when Micah and I had our first Christmas together as a young couple 10 years ago we were still figuring out our style. I remember stumbling across an Angel tree topper that was more country western with a gingham dress and a cowgirl hat and fell in love with it instantly and so did Micah! So in that moment, weeks before our first Christmas together, we decided our Christmas decor to be very western/southwest. It worked because that wasn't our everyday style and Micah was from New Mexico and so the vibe was just fun for the holidays. The pine trees and rustic feel made our house so cozy each and every holiday.
But as we've grown so has our love for vintage and so our home style has changed drastically, including Christmas.
We've collected so many vintage Christmas treasures over the years + when you include all the odds and ends we've inherited from our grandparents we definitely couldn't mix the two "themes" any more.
So as I'm slowly drowning out the western feel and bringing in the vintage, I decided to use all our old stuff for the front porch and entrance because it's so inviting and warm, then threw up all our vintage flare anywhere I could.
So I guess my disclaimer is, we are still transitioning our Christmas style and hopefully by next year it will be complete but for now this is how we are decorating for Christmas 2012!
So there you have it! A glimpse into our Home for the Holiday! Now I can't wait to sit back and enjoy getting to peek into your homes this holiday!
Just link up below and make sure to link back here so others can join in on the fun as well!

I love the cowboy nutcracker!! And there is always a special place in my heart for carolers. So cute!!

I totally know what you mean about your style changing as you get older. My hubby and I were talking about that just yesterday. Especially since we were dirt poor our first year of marriage, all of our stuff is the cheapest we could find. I have a hard time replacing now that kids are ruining all of it anyway!
