Valentine Swap

So I am a lover of all holidays, including the over commercialized Valentine's Day. I really am. The candies, the treats, the colors and the crafts that surround this holiday make me happy!
However, I don't celebrate it with Micah. Well we do. Kinda sorta, in our own way. After experiencing a stressful "first" Valentine's day, while dating ten years ago we agreed that when it came to Valentine's Day for US it meant: no cards, no going out to a restaurant and no gifts. We stay in, order pizza and watch a movie together while snuggling in the comfort of our home.

I love our tradition. He loves me well and I don't need a Hallmark Holiday as an excuse for him to waste money on an oversized stuffed bear that has no use or on roses that at a whopping $80 will be dead by weeks end. In fact I forbid him to buy me anything. Nada. Zilch. I love him, He loves me and spoils me rotten throughout the year. You can read more on that from this post
However, I love spoiling friends with Valentine goodies. Heck, not just girlfriends, when I used to work in the office, I would bake up a storm, have goodie bags for all the ladies and even put on Valentine Swaps within the workplace.

Even now as a stay at home mama I  love having Valentines for play dates, baked goods made, decorations put up and making treat bags for the ladies in my bible study. I love to celebrate it but not with my honey. Is anyone else like that?
So anyway....

When I heard these rad gals were hosting a Valentine Swap I jumped out of my chair and did a giddy little happy dance. I love meeting new people and receiving fun surprise packages in the mail. I had a blast on the New Years Swap here and knew I had to be part of this one as well. So I signed up as fast as my happy little fingers would type.
I was truly blessed with my swap partner. Besides being oh so cute and friendly, she was beyond understanding. Not only did I send her package out late but had written the wrong name on her card. GO ME! I was like,"CRIPES! Way to make a girl feel special Nat!"Ok so moving on...
Meet my new friend and swap partner Angel from Simply.Lovely.Things
When I first checked out her blog I was excited to see she was crafty and owned her own shop. I was crossing my fingers that she'd make me something.
Which of course she did. When I opened the awesome package I was stoked to find my handcrafted goody PLUS additional accessories she bought me to make a fab outfit out of.
She made this brown flower clip
and bought me this fun bright scarf and Fab blue ring!
See what I mean? This is sooo a girl's holiday!

Thanks so much for my awesome gifties Angel. You're simply the best.
Make sure to stop by Angel's blog to see what I made her! And while you're at it, check out all the other fun swaps on either of the hostesses blogs here or here.
Hope your Valentine's Day is blessed and filled with much love!

Love! My hubs & are celebrating our first married valentine's day this year, but we're doing simple, going to Starbucks to play a card game. :)

Those new accessories are adorable. :) Happy Valentine's Day! xoxo!

Oh I'm so glad I stumbled on you because of the Valentine's Day Swap!! My hubby and I don't exchange gifts either. We do exchange cards and try to be extra sweet (he brought me coffee in bed this morning. i shoveled the walk so he didn't have to) but actually buying stuff seems silly. we DO always get a little something for our kiddos though. P.S. LOVE LOVE LOVE the color of that scarf.
