I can't put into words how I feel
I had a last minute visit from a precious friend and her daughter yesterday
I was grateful I didn't have anything planned and that we just talked for hours while playing with our littles. such a sweet time
before they stopped by I had laid Vernon down for his morning nap, I heard faint singing of a familiar tune down the hallway
I came out to find Elsie belting "It's a small world" into our antique phone which she called her microphone
we were both giggling so hard and she kept saying "stop laffin mama, I'm practicing"
then while doing the dishes she got really quite so I went to check on her. I found she had taken all our blankets out so she could put all her "friends" down for their nap
we tucked them all in, prayed with them and sang them songs
my heart was so full in this moment
then during our friends visit Elsie started crying over something very small and I asked her to sit in her room until she was calm and ready to come play
minutes later I found her asleep on her bed
she laid in that awkward position legs half off the bed for hours
poor sweet angel was obviously tired from her date with daddy at Disneyland the day before
I wanted to wake her so she would go to bed at a decent hour come bed time, but I couldn't. she took my breath away just staring at her sweet rosy cheeks as she slept so peacefully
when daddy got home we went to our favorite fountain and let the two run around it splashing and giggling for what seemed like hours
her laughter filled the air and both of our hearts
we marveled at how much she is growing and how so many little things she does brings us such joy
then on the drive home from we heard her whisper to Vernon
"I love you Bubs"
and I turned around to see her holding her baby brother's hand
I looked at Micah and both our eyes welled up with tears
today there were so many little things she did that filled my heart with joy and eyes with hot tears
it was these small moments that reminded me to enjoy this.

So I read this post and thought of that song, "crazy little thing called love." thanks for making me smile :)
The little things are serious what make life on this earth so wonderful :) Beautiful little girl!
Hi Nat!!
this is the sweet sweetest!
I LOVEEEEE that hoop. I love that saying!! I'm leaving this small little note to say I love you tooo!
I have been running with the kiddos this week already like mad....but you have been on my mind. Hope you are feeling awesome. Your post yesterday was amazing. Did you know I have 3 little brothers that I raised with my mama as well? Different dad situation. But I found myself in there so much. AND I also am working with the shine project for similar reasons! Anyway,
Love to you!

So so sweet. The little things are what life is made of...
I agree. I stop myself from getting angry when Hudson keeps asks me to tuck him in 3 more times...I just picture him 18 and hanging out with his friends and not needing me as much! Tear, tear!
Love you Elsie Pearl!

So, so sweet!

What a beautiful post. Your daughter is precious, and posts like this do not help with my current case of baby fever :) I can't wait for moments like the ones you described.
